Measuring Guide

Ordering the materials is the most important step in recreating one of our rooms. We always recommend partnering with a qualified tradesperson to help you with this step, but sometimes, that isn’t always possible. Luckily, we’ve compiled our best tips for measuring and choosing your materials for an easy install with no surprises.

Tile Quantity

You’ll need to account for some extra square footage when calculating the amount of tile you’ll need for an install. To do this, multiply each surface’s length by the width and you'll have the square feet.  Then, multiply this by 20% and add that to the total.  Here's a basic formula you can follow: (Length (in feet) x width (in feet)) * 1.2 = area in sq. ft.

Countertops

We have partnerships with fabricators throughout Canada. We provide you with our trusted supplier list so you can contact your local fabricator to come measure and install your countertop directly.

Plumbing - Shower Configurations

When it comes to plumbing, there are so many options. Would you like a Rain shower Head? Body Jets? Tub Spout? Hand Shower with or without a Bar?

When you place your product order through The Room Archives, just specify the plumbing fixtures you need and we will take care of the rest. When purchasing a Specification Package for the room, all information and product options will be available to you.

Plumbing - Sinks

Take the below cabinet measurements in inches and deduct 4" from both. That is the maximum size sink you can fit.

Schluter

Measure (in feet) the length of the area that will require an edge banding. Identify which tile this will be used on as the thickness will be required for ordering.

Paint

Measure the square footage of wall space for each colour so we know how much to order for you.
